Paz Vega was born on January 2, 1976 in Seville, Andalucia, Spain. She made her television debut in the Spanish show Menudo es mi padre.

In 1999, she had her breakthrough in the Spanish sitcom 7 Vidas, which became one of the country’s best-loved local sitcoms.

She gained wider attention in the 2001 film Sex and Lucia, which led to her becoming more known in the US.

She then starred in films such as Spanglish opposite Adam Sandler, 10 Items or Less with Morgan Freeman, and The Spirit alongside Scarlett Johansson.
