Penelope_Mitchell was born on July 23, 1991 in Melbourne, Australia. At age four, she began to study ballet. She stopped when she was 16. After high school, she attended Melbourne University where she finished her degree in Media Communication. Afterwards, she decided to go Los Angeles to become an actress.

She has initially started acting in the late 2000s, making her television debut in the Australian series Rush, followed by Offspring. In Hollywood, she landed the role of Letha Godfrey in the Netflix series Hemlock Grove, earning her mainstream recognition. She then began playing Liv Parker, a recurring character in The Vampire Diaries in 2014. She will make her film debut in the upcoming movie The Curse of Downers Grove.
