Biography:

Pierce Brosnan was born on May 16, 1953 in Drogheda, Republic of Ireland. He began acting on stage, then on television where he first rose to popularity for his lead role in Remington Steele in the 1980s. He also gained recognition for his role in the 1987 movie The Fourth Protocol. His performance in the 1993 comedy film Mrs. Doubtfire also earned him significant notice.

International fame followed when he played James Bond in the 1995 film GoldenEye, becoming the fifth actor to portray the iconic role. He has since starred as James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), and Die Another Day (2002). He also played lead roles in other movies, including Dante’s Peak, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Matador, Mamma Mia!, and The Ghost Writer.
