Biography:
Polly Walker was born on 19 May 1966 in Warrington, Cheshire, England. She trained in dancing at a young age but had to stop following a leg injury. With her dancing career halted, she decided to venture into acting instead and joined Royal Shakespeare Company. In 1990, she played the titular character in the TV movie Lorna Doone. Later in 1992, she made her first Hollywood role in the film Patriot Games.
She later had starring performances in the movies Sliver, Restoration, and The Gambler. In 2002, she starred in the Canadian film Savage Messiah, which gained her a Genie Award nomination for Best Actress. Walker became widely recognized for her portrayal of Atia of the Julii in the historical series Rome. For her work here, she received a Golden Globe nomination. Other notable roles on TV include the parts of Clarice Willow in Caprica, Peggy Sykes in Pennyworth, and Lady Portia Featherington in Bridgerton.
