Bollywood star Pooja Hegde had her career beginnings in 2012. Prior to acting, she competed in the 2010 Miss Universe India and finished 2nd runner-up. Later, she made her film debut in the Tamil movie Mugamoodi. In 2014, she had roles in the Telugu films Oka Laila Kosam and Mukunda. After this, Hegde also ventured into Hindi cinema, debuting in the 2016 Bollywood film Mohenjo Daro. In the next few years, she mostly had performances in the Telugu cinema.
She starred in such films as Duvvada Jagannadham, Saakshyam, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, Maharshi, and Gaddalakonda Ganesh. She also performed with an item number in the 2018 movie Rangasthalam. Just this year, she starred in the Hindi film Housefull 4 starring an ensemble cast that includes Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh, among others. The film was met with negative reviews but became a commercial success nonetheless. She’ll star in some Telugu films in 2020.
Pooja Hegde admits that she used to be less conscious of her health and fitness. “My grandfather is a sportsman who has been felicitated by the President of India. My mom was super athletic. But I always had a lazy excuse ready for every PT class,” said the actress. She has since changed her ways, realizing the importance of taking care of herself through exercise and a healthy diet.
She avoids eating too much processed and junk foods now. Instead, she eats clean with lots of fruits and veggies. She drinks plenty of water and uses coconut oil on her skin and even in her food. She also eats every two hours instead of the typical three meals per day. This helps her manage her food intake and avoid hunger pangs. The actress also believes in the importance of simply eating well, so no crash diets or juice cleanses for her.
