Biography:

Rachel Platten was born on May 20, 1981 in New York City, New York, U.S. When she was five, she began studying classical piano. She then studied guitar in high school. After high school, she enrolled at the Trinity College in Connecticut. There, she became a member of an a cappella group. She then finished her international relations degree. Afterwards, she went to New York City to start a musical career.

In 2003, she released her first studio album titled Trust in Me. It took her many years before this was followed by a second album. The second album, Be Here, was released in 2011. Her song “1,000 Ships” reached #24 at the US Billboard Adult Top 40. In 2016, she released her third album Wildfire. This year, she released her fourth album called Waves.
