Biography:
Ralph Fiennes was born on December 22, 1962 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. He is a noted Shakespeare interpreter and first achieved success onstage in the Royal National Theatre.
He first gained international recognition and acclaim for his portrayal of Nazi war criminal Amon Goeth in Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List. For his performance, he garnered an Oscar and Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
In 1996, he received further acclaim for his work in the film The English Patient, for which he earned his second Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Other notable films include the Harry Potter film series and The Reader, to name a few.
