Regina King is an American actress. She debuted as Brenda Jenkins on the TV series 227, which she played from 1985 to 1990. After this, she made her big screen debut in the movie Boyz n the Hood. Subsequent roles were Higher Learning, Poetic Justice, Jerry Maguire, Mighty Joe Young, and Enemy of the State. In the 2000s, she was the voice of Riley and Huey Freeman on the animated show The Boondocks. She later starred as Detective Lydia Adams on the NBC series Southland. More recently, she became known for her performances on American Crime, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award. Her performance on the Netflix limited series Seven Seconds also earned her another Emmy win.
