Richard Ayoade is an English actor and comedian. He’s also a filmmaker. As an actor, he debuted in the 2003 short film Hello Friend. He next appeared with a minor role in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. His first credited role in the movies was in 2005’s Festival. Also, he played Dean Learner / Thornton Reed in the British series Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, which he also co-created. He reprised the said role in Man to Man with Dean Learner. From 2006 to 2010, Ayoade became known for his role as Maurice Moss in the British sitcom The IT Crowd. In 2010, he wrote and directed the film Submarine, which won the British Independent Film Award for Best Screenplay. He recently starred as Patrick in the 2019 film The Souvenir. Also, he currently hosts the game show The Crystal Maze.
