From 1999 to 2006, he gained fame for starring as Toby Ziegler in The West Wing. For his performance, he won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor. In the 2010s, he played Harrison ‘Skip’ Galweather in House of Lies, David Hertzberg in Murder in the First, Marty Stein in Rogue, and Jon Gottlief in The Affair.
