Biography:

Robert Downey, Jr. was born on April 4, 1965 in New York City, New York, USA. He made his screen debut at the age of five when he appeared in his father Robert Downey, Sr.’s film Pound.

In 1992, he starred as Charlie Chaplin in the film Chaplin, for which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.

He went on to gain international fame in 2008 after being cast as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the live action film Iron Man, a role he reprised in Iron Man 2, The Avengers and Iron Man 3.
