Rosalind Chao is an American actress whose career began in the 1970s. During her early years, she mostly performed on television. She became more active during the ’80s, first playing recurring role Miss Chung on Diff’rent Strokes. Her first starring role on television was as Soon-Lee Klinger on CBS sitcom AfterMASH, which aired from 1983 to 1985. After this, she played Li Ying on Falcon Crest. In the ’90s, she became widely known for starring as Keiko O’Brien on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She’s also appeared in some films, including in I Am Sam, Just like Heaven, and Freaky Friday. More recently, she had performances in the movies Stockholm, Pennsylvania and Tragedy Girls.
