Rufus Sewell is an English actor whose career began in 1991, debuting in the film Twenty-One. He went on to star in the films Dirty Weekend, A Man of No Importance, Victory, and The Woodlanders. He also portrayed Mark Gertler in the biographical film Carrington, as well as played Fortinbras in Hamlet. In 1998, he starred as Marco Venier in the movie Dangerous Beauty. He continued his career in the 2000s, starring in such films as A Knight’s Tale, Extreme Ops, The Illusionist, Amazing Grace, and The Holiday. During this period, he portrayed Alexander Hamilton in the miniseries, John Adams. From 2008 to 2009, he starred as Dr. Jacob Hood in the TV series Eleventh Hour. More recently, he played Lord Melbourne in Victoria and John Smith in The Man in the High Castle.
