Biography:
Ryan Kwanten was born on November 28, 1976 in Sydney, Australia. Despite earning a degree in commerce from the University of Sydney, he still pursued acting, which he has initially begun in the early 1990s during his teens, appearing on the TV shows A Country Practice and G.P.. His break on the small screen came after being cast as Vinnie in the drama series Home and Away.
In the mid 2000s, he began his career on American television beginning with a guest appearance in Tru Calling. He then became part of the main cast, playing Jay in the short-lived series Summerland. After the show wrapped up in 2005, he appeared in the movies Flicka, Dead Silence, and Red Hill. Returning on television in the late 2000s, he went on to achieve widespread recognition as Jason Stackhouse in True Blood. He recently starred in the film Kidnapping Freddy Heineken.
