Biography:

Ryan Phillippe was born on September 10, 1974 in New Castle, Delaware, U.S. He first gained attention for his role as Billy Douglas in the soap opera One to Live. In 1995, he made his film debut with his role as Seaman Grattam in Crimson Tide.

He was then cast as Barry William Cox in the horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer, gaining him wider recognition. In 1999, he played Sebastian Valmont in the feature Cruel Intentions, garnering him further fame.

He has since starred in other mainstream films including Crash, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture, Flags of Our Fathers, Chaos, MacGruber, The Bang Bang Club and The Lincoln Lawyer, among others.
