Biography:
Sam Smith was born on May 19, 1992 in London, England. He was into music since he was young and was trained in singing and songwriting. In October 2012, he got his break in the recording industry when he got featured in Disclosure’s hit single “Latch”. The song’s popularity helped Smith got his own groove as a musician.
In May 2014, he went on to release his debut studio album In the Lonely Hour, which spawned the songs “Lay Me Down”, “Money on My Mind”, and “Stay with Me”, the last of which became an international hit. Other songs from the album are “I’m Not the Only One” and “Like I Can”. He has won the Best New Artist and Record of the Year and Song of the Year for the song “Stay with Me” at the Grammy Awards in 2014.
