Biography:
Sam Trammell was born on January 29, 1969 in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S. Apart from his screen career, he’s also been active in theater, Broadway, and Off-Broadway. In 1996, he made his television debut on the TV movie Harvest of Fire. His first starring role on the small screen came in the 2000s, starring as Kevin “Space” Lauglin on Going to California. He later played Marty Levine in 3 episodes of Judging Amy.
During this period, he also had performances in the films Autumn in New York, Followers, and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. His breakthrough role came in 2008, playing the part of Sam Merlotte on HBO’s True Blood, a role he played until 2014. He simultaneously had roles in the films Guns, Girls and Gambling, Crazy Kind of Love, and The Fault in Our Stars. As of 2015, he stars as Richard Paxson on the series Cocked. He also had a 4-episode role on This Is Us as Ben. He will star as Carson Drew in the upcoming film Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase.
