Biography:
Samantha Morton was born on May 13, 1977 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England. When she was 13, she left school to train as an actress at the Central Junior Television Workshop.
After training for three years, she was offered small-screen roles, and in 1991 landed the role of Clare Anderson in the first series of Lucy Gannon’s Soldier Soldier.
In 1999, she was cast in Woody Allen’s Sweet and Lowdown, for which she received critical acclaim and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She went on to star in Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report, opposite Tom Cruise in 2002.
