Biography:
Sean Astin was born on February 25, 1971 in Santa Monica, California, U.S. In his later life, he attended UCLA where he finished a degree in History and English. In 1981, he made his acting debut in the television film Please Don’t Hit Me, Mom. He later made his big screen debut in the 1985 film The Goonies. Later in 1993, he portrayed Daniel Ruettiger in the film Rudy.
Astin rose to fame in the 2000s for his role as Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Afterward, he starred in the movies 50 First Dates, Bigger Than the Sky, Borderland, Click, and The Final Season. During this period, he also starred as Mister Smith in the TV series Jeremiah, Linus in Hercules, and Lynn McGill in 24. In the 2010s, he was the voice of Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Astin also played Bob Newby in Stranger Things. Currently, he narrates the show The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants.
