Biography:

Shamita Shetty was born on February 2, 1979 in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. She is the younger sister of actress Shilpa Shetty. Her acting career began with her debut in the 2000 blockbuster Mohabbatein.

For her portrayal of Ishika Dhanrajgir, she won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year, which she shared with her co-stars Kim Sharma and Preeti Jhangiani. In 2002, she made her debut in Tamil cinema with Raajjiyam.

She has since starred in several other feature films including Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Agnipankh, Fareb, Mohabbat Ho Gayi Hai Tumse, Heyy Babyy, Hari Puttar: A Comedy of Terrors and Naan Aval Adhu, among others.
