Biography:

Shane West was born on June 10, 1978 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. When he was around 15 or 16, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. He eventually made his acting debut in 1995 with the TV series Picket Fences.

In 1999, he landed his first lead role in the TV show Once and Again, playing Eli Sammler for three seasons. He then made his film debut in Liberty Heights in the same year.

He gained wider recognition after being cast as Landon Carter in the 2002 adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ novel A Walk to Remember.
