Biography:
Sharon Lawrence was born on June 29, 1961, in Charlotte, North Carolina, U.S. She completed her journalism degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to her screen career, she started her career on Broadway during the mid-1980s. In 1992, she made her TV debut in an episode of Civil Wars. She has since made one-time roles in Beverly Hills, 90210 and Cheers.
She gained mainstream recognition courtesy of her role as Sylvia Costas in NYPD Blue. During this period, she started her film career, debuting in 1994’s Bloodfist V: Human Target. While starring in NYPD Blue, she also starred in several TV movies. She also had starring roles in the short-lived shows Fired Up, Ladies Man, and Wolf Lake. More recently, she played Margo Mierzejewski in Shameless, Eleanor in Me, Myself & I, and Brenda Sanders in The Ranch.
