Biography:

Shawn Ashmore was born on October 7, 1979 in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Actor Aaron Ashmore is his twin brother. He made his first screen appearance as a boy in the show Katts and Dog. In 1991, he made his film debut in Married to It. In the 1990s, he mostly had one-episode roles in some television shows. His first starring role on TV was as Jake Berenson in the series Animorphs.

He next starred as Tyler Connell in the show In a Heartbeat. His first role in a major film was as Bobby Drake/Iceman in the Hollywood movie X-Men. He reprised his role in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, gaining him wider recognition. In the 2010s, he had roles in the films Frozen, Mother’s Day, Mariachi Gringo, and Breaking the Girls. He went on to play Bobby again in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. He also starred as Agent Mike Weston in The Following and Sam Spencer in Conviction.
