Biography:
Shohreh Aghdashloo was born on May 11, 1952 in Tehran, Iran. She relocated to England during the 1979 Iranian revolution and subsequently became a citizen of the United States.
She made her American film debut in the 1989 feature Guests of Hotel Astoria. She then gained critical acclaim for her performance in the 2003 movie House of Sand and Fog, for which she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
She continued to gain fame with her roles in such films as The Lake House, X-Men: The Last Stand, The Nativity Story, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. On television, she won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in House of Saddam.
