Biography:

Shruti Haasan was born on January 28, 1986 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She started her career as a child artist, singing in films and appearing in guest roles.

She made her acting debut in the 2009 film Luck. Her breakthrough was in the Walt Disney fantasy film Anaganaga O Dheerudu. For her performance, she received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

She went on star in such films as Oh My Friend, and 7aam Arivu, for which she also gained her first Filmfare Best Actress nomination. In 2012, she earned another Filmfare nomination for Best Actress for her role in the Tamil movie 3.
