Biography:

Sofia Boutella was born on April 3, 1982 in Bab El Oued, Algiers, Algeria. She was only five when she began her dance training. She and her family left for France when she was 10. There, she studied rhythmic gymnastics and went on to join the national team in France at age 18. She graduated from Berklee College of Music.

She began her career in the show business as a dancer, of course, dancing in numerous films and television shows. She also danced in commercials and concert tours. Her working to endorse Nike made a difference in her career, leading her to work with the likes of Madonna and Rihanna. She ultimately started an acting career, appearing in the films StreetDance 2, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Star Trek Beyond. She will star in the upcoming film The Mummy alongside Tom Cruise.
