Biography:
Steve Carell was born on August 16, 1962 in Concord, Massachusetts, United States. He first gained recognition for his work in The Daily Show with Jon beginning in 1999 until 2005. He then experienced greater success as a comedic actor for his portrayal of Michael Scott in The Office.
His performance in the show had earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in 2006, as well as Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series from 2006 to 2011. On the big screen, he first became known for his role in 2004’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, followed by 2005’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin, in which he played the lead role. He has since starred in several well-known films like Evan Almighty, Dan in Real Life, Get Smart, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. He then received an Academy Award nomination for his role in 2014’s Foxcatcher.
