Taika Waititi is a New Zealand actor, comedian, and filmmaker. As an actor, he debuted in the 1999 New Zealand film Scarfies. He later had performances in the films Snakeskin, Futile Attraction, and Eagle vs Shark. In 2002, he made his directorial debut in the short film John and Pogo. He next wrote and directed the short film Two Cars, One Night. This got him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. The first movie he directed was 2007’s Eagle vs Shark. In 2010, he made his Hollywood debut playing the role of Thomas Kalmaku in the film Green Lantern. He came to mainstream prominence when he directed Thor: Ragnarok and also played the role of Korg. He’ll star in the upcoming black comedy-drama film Jojo Rabbit.
