Taissa Farmiga was born on August 17, 1994 in Clifton, New Jersey, USA. She is the younger sister of actress Vera Farmiga. She made her acting debut, playing the 16-year-old version of her sister’s character in Vera’s directorial debut Higher Ground.

Her performance in the film was acclaimed at the Sundance Film Festival, which made her decide to seriously pursue acting.

She was then cast as Violet Harmon in the first season of American Horror Story. The series was highly acclaimed upon its debut, receiving two Golden Globe and 17 Emmy nominations.
