Tawny Newsome was born on February 24, 1983 in Vacaville, California, United States. She joined The Second City to begin her comedic career. In 2013, she made her screen debut in an episode of the TV series Chicago Fire. After more brief roles on the small screen, she landed her first main role as Chelsea in Bajillion Dollar Propertie$.

At the same time, she had roles in the films Einstein’s God Model and Canal Street. She also had notable parts in other TV shows, including Nobodies, The Comedy Get Down, and Brockmire. In 2019, she had a recurring appearance in the comedy program Sherman’s Showcase, as well as appeared as Georgia in Perfect Harmony. Since 2020, Newsome has been starring as Angela Ali in the new series Space Force.
