Terrence Howard is an American actor. He started his Hollywood career in the early 1990s. His first notable roles on the big screen were in Dead Presidents and Mr. Holland’s Opus. In the 2000s his career became more prolific. He starred in the Oscar Best Picture winner Crash. He was also nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars for his role in Hustle & Flow. He has since starred in the films The Brave One, August Rush, and Iron Man. In the 2010s, he starred in The Company You Keep, The Butler, and Cardboard Boxer. On TV he played Jonah “Joe” Dekker on Law & Order: LA. As of 2015, he stars as Lucious Lyon on Empire. He’s also playing Sheriff Arnold Pope on Wayward Pines.
