Tika Sumpter is an American actress. She started her TV career as host of the show Best Friend’s Date. She next landed the role of Layla Williamson on the soap opera One Life to Live. In the movies, her first credited role was in the 2010 film Stomp the Yard: Homecoming. In the 2010s, she had notable performances in such movies as What’s Your Number?, Sparkle, A Madea Christmas, My Man Is a Loser, and Get On Up. She later became further known for starring in the films Ride Along 2 and Southside with You. Back on TV, she played Raina Thorpe on Gossip Girl and Jenna Rice on The Game. Since 2013, she’s been starring as Candace Young on The Haves and the Have Nots.
