Biography:
Tilda Swinton was born on November 5, 1960 in London, England. She attended Murray Edwards College at Cambridge University where she earned a degree in Social and Political Sciences.
She first appeared as Julia in the miniseries Zastrozzi: A Romance in 1986. That same year, she made her film debut with her role as Lena in Caravaggio. She went on to star in mainstream films such as The Beach and Vanilla Sky.
In 2001, she received her first Golden Globe Award nomination for her role in The Deep End. She then gained much acclaim for her work in Michael Clayton, receiving an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
