Tim Matheson is an American actor. He has since ventured into directing. His career started in the 1960s, making his debut on the TV show Window on Main Street. He later made his film debut in Divorce American Style. In the 1970s, he first gained recognition for his role as Officer Phil Sweet in 1973’s Magnum Force. He later rose to fame for starring as Eric “Otter” Stratton in 1978’s National Lampoon’s Animal House. Later in 1999, he became known for his role as Vice President John Hoynes on The West Wing. For his performance, he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy. He starred on the show until its conclusion in 2006. Afterward, he played Larry Sizemore on Burn Notice where he also directed some of the episodes.
