Tom Berenger is an American actor. His career spans decades, beginning in the 1970s. He debuted as Tim Siegel in the soap opera One Life to Live. In 1977, he made his film debut in The Sentinel. Later in 1979, he played Butch Cassidy / Robert Leroy Parker in the Western film Butch and Sundance: The Early Days. In 1986, he gained fame for his role as Staff Sergeant Barnes in Oliver Stone’s Platoon. He won a Golden Globe for his role and was also nominated for an Oscar. In the ’90s, he starred as Thomas Beckett in Sniper and its sequel Sniper 2. During the 2000s, Berenger starred as Bob “The Commander” Garrett in the ABC drama October Road. In 2012, he starred in Hatfields & McCoys, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award. He later played Jackson Raydor in TNT’s Major Crimes. He recently starred as Thomas Beckett in the direct-to-video film Sniper: Assassin’s End.
