Tom Mison was born on 23 July 1982 in Woking, Surrey, England. He received his training from the Webber-Douglas Academy. He also attended American Conservatory Theater’s Young Conservatory program. In 2005, he made his professional screen debut on the TV movie A Waste of Shame: The Mystery of Shakespeare and His Sonnets. He next appeared on the show The Amazing Mrs Pritchard.

After appearing in an episode of Secret Diary of a Call Girl, he portrayed Charles Bingley on Lost in Austen. He continued his professional acting career in the 2010s. He appeared in 4 episodes of the show Parade’s End. His mainstream breakthrough came as Ichabod Crane on the American series Sleepy Hollow. He reprised his role when he guest starred on Bones.
