Biography:
Valerie Bertinelli was born on April 23, 1960 in Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.. She attended Tami Lynn School of Artists where she studied acting. In 1974, she made her television debut on Apple’s Way. The following year, she starred as Barbara Cooper Royer on the TV series One Day at a Time. Her performance on the show was acclaimed. For this, she won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in 1981 and 1982.
In 1979, she made her cinematic debut in the movie C.H.O.M.P.S. The following decade, she starred on several TV films. In 1990, she portrayed the titular character on the TV show Sydney. She next starred as Holly Aldridge on Café Americain from 1993 to 1994. She then starred as Gloria on the TV series Touched by an Angel. From 2010 to 2015, she starred as Melanie Moretti on Hot in Cleveland.
