Biography:

Valerie Cruz was born on July 18, 1976 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, U.S. Beginning her career in the early 2000s, she has initially appeared in such shows as Strong Medicine and The Agency before getting the part of Grace Santiago in Nip/Tuck. In 2004, she made her movie debut in the thriller film Cellular. She then became known for her recurring role as Sylvia Prado in Dexter. She also appeared as Maria Nolan in some episodes of Hidden Palms.

Cruz went on to join the main cast of the show The Dresden Files where she starred as Lt. Connie Murphy. In the 2010s, she had recurring/starring roles in such TV shows as Off the Map, Alphas, Homeland, The Following, and Life Sentence. Currently, she plays the starring role of Marisol Vera in Charmed.
