Biography:

Vimala Raman was born on January 23, 1980 in Sydney, Australia. She was raised in Sydney and completed her education in the city, as well. In 2004, she won the Miss India Australia title.

Two years later, she moved to India to pursue a career in acting. In 2006, she made her film debut with the Tamil feature Poi. The following year, she starred in the Malayalam movie Time.

She has since starred in several Malayalam films including Pranayakalam, Pranayakalam, Nasrani, Romeoo, Calcutta News, College Kumaran and Apoorva. In 2011, she played the role of Meera in the English-language film Dam 999.
