Biography:
Wes Chatham was born on October 11, 1978 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. He joined the U.S. Navy after high school where he worked as an aviation firefighter. Serving aboard USS Essex, he got into acting after Denzel Washington chose the said ship for the film Antwone Fisher. Witness the production of the movie firsthand, this encouraged him to pursue acting.
Moving to Hollywood, he made his acting debut in the 2003 film The Fighting Temptations. He was then cast as Isaac in the TV series Barbershop, after which he appeared in the films In the Valley of Elah and W. In the 2010s, he had performances in the films Husk, The Help, and The Philly Kid. Chatham became further known after getting the part of Amos Burton in the series, The Expanse. Back on the big screen, he played Castor in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. In 2020, he appeared as Sammy in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.
