Yani Gellman was born on September 2, 1985 in Miami, Florida, U.S.. His acting career started during his teens. In 1998, he made his television debut in two episodes of Goosebumps. Two years later, he made his cinematic debut in the movie Urban Legends: Final Cut. He next appeared in the film Jason X. He became further known for playing Hilary Duff’s love interest in the 2004 film The Lizzie McGuire Movie.

On television, his first significant role was as Michael Medina on Guinevere Jones. He next had a recurring role as Ryder on Wild Card. From 2006 to 2007, he starred as Antonio on Monster Warriors. He gained wider recognition for starring as Rafael Torres on the soap opera The Young and the Restless. Afterwards, he played Officer Garrett Reynolds on Pretty Little Liars. In 2017, he appeared as Louis in the movie 47 Meters Down.
